Tulun Tengu: Like Kitsune, Tengu were once normal animals (crows in this case) which magically evolved during the time recorded as The Mythic Era. In a similar manner to Kitsune as well, Tengu are known for mischievous behaviour and larceny, but unlike their fox-like cousins they do not have the same quasi-mystical connection with ‘luck’. Instead Tengu are known to be either scoundrels and thieves if “wild” (those in the wilderness) or dedicated swordsmen and spell-casters unburdened by morals if “civilised” (living in the rural areas around settlements). Loyal to no-one but themselves and their “ethics”, Tengu work for whom they choose and for their own reasons, often seemingly at odds with the ordered laws of the Dracen. However, once their mind is made on something, they can be loyal almost to a fault: something the Dracen respect.
Place of Origin: Located primarily in the wilderness and along the fringes of civilisation in the Eastern Kingdom of Omishiru, few venture beyond its borders as they still feel their connection to that land, even now.
